As a longtime marketing, communications, and public relations professional, my skills include:
* Writing and editing in formats including website copy, e-books, white papers, presentations, proposals, marketing and strategic plans, articles, blog posts, ad copy, press releases, printed collateral materials, and more.
* SEO: keyword and keyword phrase research, search engine-optimized content creation, tracking, analysis and reporting.

For the past 10 years, I’ve served clients across a variety of industries as a professional freelance writer, editor, and marketing consultant. Prior to my freelance career, I owned a graphic design and web design firm for 13 years, served as Vice President of Marketing at a large senior living community in North Carolina, and advised clients across the country as Director of Integrated Communications for a senior living consultancy firm.

Before that, I earned a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and held several positions with daily newspapers, including correspondent, staff writer, bureau chief, news editor, copy editor, and night metro editor.

At this stage in my career, I truly enjoy working with a variety of clients and colleagues, learning something new every day, and bringing my broad and deep communications and marketing experience to bear in a way that provides measurable benefits. I work hard to stay up on all the latest trends in digital marketing, and I keep my skills current by pursuing a variety of certifications – most recently, Hubspot Inbound Marketing and SEO.
